Newsletter Autumn 2025
Dear supporters,
We hope you’ve had an enjoyable summer with plenty of opportunities for walking and cycling.
Update on the community path design work
We wrote to you last Christmas that Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) had appointed a design company to create final detailed plans for the path. OCC received the full design plans it had commissioned late this summer. BikeSafe has had a chance to review them and we have given our feedback.
OCC will now submit the path designs to Active Travel England with the aim of receiving its comments and ultimately (some) funding.
A public consultation of the plans is hopefully expected spring 2026.
It is a long and slow process, but we will get there eventually!
Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan consultation (LCWIP)
BikeSafe has taken part in discussions with the Eynsham LCWIP group. There is now a public consultation of the Draft Eynsham and the surrounding area LCWI Plan.
You can review and comment at the following link: link: https://letstalk.oxfordshire.gov.uk/eynsham-and-the-surrounding-area-local-cycling-and-walking-infrastructure-plan-lcwip-consultation
This consultation will run from Monday 29th September to Monday 27th October at 23:59.
Comments received through the consultation will be part of the final version of the LCWIP.
Glow Ride Oxford Wednesday 22nd October
Cycling UK is holding a nationwide Glow Ride event. There is one taking place in Oxford on 22nd October at 18.00. It’s open to anyone over the age of 18. Make sure you have bike lights as well as lots of other lights and cycle through the beautiful city of Oxford.
